NAPLAN numeracy prep
Years 5, 7 and 9. Build the skills the test measures and walk in feeling calm.
Prep without the pressure
NAPLAN is done online in March. The numeracy test adapts as your child goes, so questions get harder or easier depending on how they're travelling.
We focus on the maths behind the questions and the reasoning style NAPLAN likes to use. Students also get comfortable working to time on screen, which helps a lot on the day.
What we cover
- Number, patterns and algebra
- Measurement and geometry
- Statistics and probability
- Multi-step reasoning questions
- Calculator and non-calculator strategies for Years 7 and 9
- Timed practice in the online format
NAPLAN questions
When is NAPLAN?
It runs in March each year for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Your school newsletter will have this year's exact dates.
How are results reported?
Against four levels: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs additional support. Schools send reports home later in the year.
Is NAPLAN tutoring worth it?
We don't teach to the test. We work on the numeracy skills it measures, which are the same ones your child needs at school anyway. Getting used to the online format also takes the nerves out of test day.
When should we start?
Term 4 the year before is ideal. It gives a few months to work on gaps without cramming.
